Fire Police

Our Fire Police fulfill a special role during everyday operations at Litchfield Fire. Directing traffic and keeping the scene safe is an arduous, but well appreciated task. Without these dedicated individuals, operations are directly affected by bystanders, news organizations, etc., and this hindrance can cost money, time, and even lives.


Details:

  • Fire Police provide scene management, traffic control, bystander liaison, general safety and much more at all types of emergency scenes.
  • As a Fire Police member of LFD, you are expected to respond to emergencies, attend training and meetings to meet member requirements.
  • Extensive training is not required to become a Fire Police member, but time, commitment, and dedication to our organization are required.
  • Fire Police may also serve in a staff officer position.

    Requirements:

    • 18 yrs of age
    • Complete course in Fire Police procedures
    • Citizen or legal resident of the U.S.
    • Maintain physical fitness qualification
    • Maintain drug-free service
    • Successfully pass background check
